Artist's Description

I've been to Katy Texas many times but didn't know they had their own train engine! This appeared the 4th of July, 2016 on a hot summer afternoon! This is actually a reasonably contemporary Electro-Motive model SD70ACe, built in 2004 and delivered to Union Pacific Railroad. It is one of their rare 'Heritage' paint schemes, commemorating railroads that merged with them over the years. This one honors the Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad ('the Katy'), which became part of Union Pacific in 1988.

Catch me on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/linda_unger_photography/ I'm a Member TPPA. I've been in photography for 46 years, starting with a Minolta SRT 101 and finally graduating to the Canon 30D and 50D series. Today I have a Canon 7D Mark II and an Olympus E-P5. But a few years back I got bitten by the film bug again and purchased 2 film cameras, a Mamiya 645 and a Mamiya 645 1000s Medium Format Film Camera, along with a Yashica Electro 35 GTN and a Nikon F3HP to play with.. I just love it. I started working in my 20's in the darkroom with the old fashioned "rock the tray" developing method. I shot with a camera as big as a car for many years in the printing industry. There I learned the "feel" of what my settings should be....
